The working principle of Impregnation Machine is to penetrate impregnating liquid (such as resin, oil, wax, etc.) into the internal pores of porous materials by vacuum and pressure technologies, so as to improve material properties (such as sealing performance, strength, corrosion resistance, etc.). The detailed working‑procedure steps of the impregnation machine are shown below:
1. Pre‑treatment
Workpiece cleaning: Clean workpieces to be treated to remove surface oil stains, dust and other impurities, ensuring the impregnating liquid can fully penetrate into material pores.
2. Vacuum Impregnation
Vacuum pumping: Place cleaned workpieces into the impregnation tank and start the vacuum pump to extract air inside the tank and form a vacuum environment. This step removes air trapped in material pores to prepare for liquid penetration.
Impregnating liquid filling: Inject impregnating liquid into the tank under vacuum state to fully submerge workpieces. As the interior of materials is under vacuum, the impregnating liquid quickly infiltrates into pores under atmospheric pressure.
3. Pressure Impregnation
Pressure application: After vacuum impregnation, certain pressure is normally applied via pneumatic or hydraulic systems to further drive impregnating liquid into tiny material pores. Pressure impregnation ensures thorough filling of every pore and improves overall impregnation performance.
4. Curing Treatment
Workpiece removal: Take impregnated workpieces out from the impregnation tank.
Curing: Perform curing according to the properties of impregnating liquid. Available curing modes include heat curing, UV‑curing and natural curing. During curing, the impregnating liquid hardens inside pores and forms a stable filling structure.
5. Post‑treatment
Surface cleaning: Wash off excess impregnating liquid on workpiece surfaces to avoid residues affecting subsequent usage or appearance.
Drying: Dry the workpieces to guarantee complete curing and meet service requirements.
Key Components of Impregnation Machine
Impregnation tank: A vessel for holding workpieces and impregnating liquid, normally well‑sealed for vacuum and pressurization operations.
Vacuum system: Composed of vacuum pump and vacuum pipelines for vacuum pumping.
Pressure system: Consists of pneumatic or hydraulic devices for pressure exertion.
Heating / Curing system: For curing impregnating liquid, which may include heaters, UV lamps and other units.
Control system: Regulates parameters such as vacuum degree, pressure and temperature to ensure accuracy and consistency of the whole impregnation process.
